— Nadene Canning

After 20 years working in over 45 countries managing large projects in industry and sustainable development Nadene Canning created a boutique consulting agency focusing her strategic ability to decipher variables in a creative and analytical way. For over a decade Nadene has supported executives, business owners and young professionals worldwide, designing strategies to accelerate innovation, performance and impact. At the same time her passion project involved raising awareness and developing capacity regarding diversity and inclusion in the Swiss workplace, and she founded VIA2, a social enterprise which provided tools, training and coaching services to a broad ecosystem of stakeholders. In 2012 she wrote La force le l’Équilibre Vie familiale, vie professionnelle outlining the latest thinking, beliefs and norms around the topic as well as the opportunities and challenges to creating sustainable change.

This led to her increasing emphasis as an educator, facilitator, executive and personal leadership advisor, and experiential learning designer.

Teaching began when she was asked to design “Leadership & Management Skills” within the Masters’ in International Business. Not believing that leadership can be taught in class, she designed and iterated over seven semesters an experiential learning curriculum, which led to her being asked to design and facilitate  four of 13 foundation modules on “Leading Change” in Advanced Sustainable Business within the DAS at St. Gallen Institute for the Economy and the Environment.  She also taught Negotiation Techniques with the Management of Technology and Entrepreneurship Masters’ program at the EPFL.

In 2019 she was accepted into the Dare to Lead™ facilitation program and was trained by Dr. Brené Brown in San Antonio, Texas. During this time she stepped away from full time facilitation for 12 months to join EDACY as VP of Education and Learning heading the design and realization of 2 digital blended online learning programs as well as spearheading the Digital Champions initiative for the Institute of Capacity Development Diwan of Royal Court, Oman.

Today her areas of expertise include: leadership, strategy, team development and performance, diversity, inclusion and the future of work. She is motivated, fierce and excited about helping people and teams align competence, behavior and purpose to maximize performance.

InnerDevelopment@Work is her latest initiative is a peer2peer learning and development community created in October 2024 working with global practitioners in organizations with inner development for outer impact.
